Sydney:
“Marjorie made our child (and us!) feel comfortable and at ease as we determined the best way to support our kiddo with her speech needs. Marjorie focuses on strengths and does not just look at deficits.”
“Using this strength-based approach, she is able to design goals that are realistic and attainable. We are so grateful we found her!”

Evaluation
• approximately 90-minutes $440*
• includes a thorough speech-language report.
• Marjorie can send your report to any of your other practitioners and to new referrals
• usually required to begin treatment (sometimes a recent evaluation from somewhere else is enough to begin)
After discussing your needs and goals for therapy with Marjorie, the first step in therapy is usually evaluation. At this point you’ll have some intake paperwork. Other records and evaluations will also be requested.
An evaluation session is usually between about an hour to two hours in duration, depending on the child. With this initial evaluation, you’ll have a report for your records, and Marjorie will connect you with any referrals. She will coordinate care with any other service providers.
Treatment
• approximately 45-minute session at Wordshop studio, your home, or your child’s school — $160* (may require additional $40 travel fee)
Speech/language/communication therapy sessions are individually designed to help your child build specific skills and practice communication in a fun and friendly setting. Treatment sessions are typically 45 minutes, though this can depend on your child’s attention needs and age.
Most clients are scheduled for one session per week, though sometimes more or less frequency would better support your/your child’s needs.
Insurance
Wordshop does not currently accept insurance. If your insurance provides benefits for seeing out-of-network SLP providers, our office can provide a superbill or coded invoice for you to submit to them for reimbursement.
Care coordination
Marjorie can coordinate speech-language-communication care with other professionals, including a pediatrician, OT, PT, orthodontist, ENT, school staff, and any other specialists or service providers. This can include making arrangements for treatment and transfer of records.
Specialties
Marjorie has specialized literacy training (Orton-Gillingham) that expands her skill set and scope of practice into supporting reading and writing in addition to speaking and listening.
All therapy services are available virtually or in person. Virtual sessions are a better fit for some clients than others.
Marjorie is dual-licensed in OR and WA
*The rates listed above reflect what allows us to continue the work doing we love: supporting you.
Our global economy, however, is founded on inequitable systems that benefit just a few, and I practice Pay from the Heart.
Most simply, Pay from the Heart means that you check with your heart and find a payment that works for you and for us. We want you to feel great about the relationship: what you receive in support, and what you give to sustain us in our giving to you.
Some helpful guidelines for treatment rates:
- $100 is our baseline, minimum request for regular sessions.
- $160 It's a strong step from the minimum toward our thriving amount.
- $220 is our sustainable amount; it helps us thrive to give more to you.
Food and shelter: If you live in a country that isn’t on par with the US economy, or are in a financial situation, where spending $100/session might mean you can’t afford food or keep a roof over your head, you are invited with an open heart to choose an amount between $75 and $100. This includes situations where paying our minimum would affect basic quality of life. Come and get the help!
If even $75 would cause dangerous hardship for you, please reach out to us directly.
